Out of Home Displays

The interdisciplinary research project Out-of-Home-Displays goes into the matter how displays act within public areas and how these effects come into existence. Practical perceptions in the form of 33 theses to area and situation, to contribution and display and to program organisation as well as program control bestow designers and system provider’s advices how Out-of-Home-Displays can be planned, designed and used systematically.

BaBeL

BaBeL channel is an initiative of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. On large displays in public areas a quarter movie program is cast a view on the quarter and confide new products, funny and informative things and is open for participation. The program is changing every two weeks and operates as black board as well. BaBeL channel is an experiment, not just in theoretical prospect but also in relation to program organisation and cinematic mode of expression speaking without sound within a mostly hectic area to pedestrians.

5-10-20

The contest 5-10-20 has the aim to boost the quality of short moving image segments of all genres. In order that the conditions, which have to be considered during the production, could be recognised superiorly the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts evaluates the segments within research projects. In the centre stands the search of successful dramaturgic strategies and the question how much information could be transported in which time slot. The perceptions of the studies are published.
