Volvo Car Corporation signs agreement with PC-WARE
With the divestment from Ford, Volvo Car Corporation signs an agreement with PC-WARE for the central management and purchasing of software licenses. The agreement covers the worldwide software provision and management for the entire Volvo Car Corporation.
Earlier this year, in March 2010, Volvo Car Corporation had been sold by Ford Motor Company, which necessitated a separate licensing contract for the Swedish-based automobile manufacturer. Through the agreement with PC-WARE, Volvo Cars will be able to centralize the complete management of software by a large number of suppliers. The PC-WARE License Center will serve as a "hub" for the management of software licenses, monitoring of licensing agreements and advice on licensing matters. PC-WARE will also act in an advisory capacity for Volvo Cars in negotiations with software vendors.
"We are very happy to service the Volvo Car Corporation with our software licensing consulting on a global scale. I understand this unique agreement with Volvo, a company known for their exceptionally high standards of quality, as a mark of trust in the capabilities of our knowledgeable team. We look forward to establishing a strong partnership", said Dr. Klaus Elsbacher, CEO PC-WARE.
