PC-WARE subsidiary DIGI TRADE acquires major Czech bank as its customer

Leipzig, 12/08/2006
DIGI TRADE, a 100 % subsidiary of the pan-European IT service provider PC-WARE AG, is taking over the entire license management for Microsoft products on behalf of Česká spořitelna.

The recently concluded agreements with the largest bank for private customers, small and medium-sized companies and local governments and public authorities in the Czech Republic represents the most extensive enterprise agreement (EA) in the history of DIGI TRADE. It includes service for all Czech subsidiaries of Česká spořitelna.

“The extensive consulting by PC-WARE DIGI TRADE and the high degree of competence led to a general agreement that is absolutely tailor made to suit our needs and standards”, says Karel Brtnický, Director for IT Decentralized Systems at Česká spořitelna.

With the bank’s contract DIGI TRADE is strengthening its position as leading Czech wholesaler for Microsoft products (LAR). Despite the saturated Microsoft market, DIGI TRADE succeeded in the last fiscal year in raising turnover by 23 percent.

“We achieve the lion’s share of this increase in turnover in the business field of IT Services. Within this framework, Software Asset Management is gaining special significance for our existing customers”, says Zdeněk Lukeš, General Manager at DIGI TRADE. “The reasons why we were awarded the contract in such an important tender procedure are our expertise and our clear market strategy. The agreement provides the customer with ideal licensing and effective licence management. Ultimately, it offers a secure basis for extensive IT projects and the introduction of new technologies, also in the branches.”

Česká spořitelna and its branches together manage over 5.3 million customers on the Czech market. The bank is member of the First Bank Group, one of the largest Central European financial groups with over 15 million customers.
