The PC-WARE OSCI .net Intermediary is a component developed with the express purpose of guaranteeing secure, compliant communication in and with administrative departments.

The transmission data are cryptographically secured in this way: on the first transportation leg (from sender to Intermediary) this information can only be decrypted by the Intermediary and on the second transportation leg the information can only be decrypted by the end-user. This principle is named "Principle of the double envelope".

Particularly within the scope of administrations a multitude of signature-obligatory procedures (e.g. tax computations, certificates of birth) is affected.
